The Gold Building our location since 2012 for our 12th annual Big Climb to help raise funds for research and the Lea’s Foundation Center for Hematologic Disorders at UConn Health Center. This Center treats patients suffering from leukemia and its blood related cancers in a “world class center” that saves patients from long distance travel.
One Financial Plaza, known as The Gold Building since 1974, is one of Hartford’s most recognized landmark office towers. Its 26 floors of distinctive gold glass creates reflections across the city skyline from every angle.
This building represents a challenge to those that think they are physically fit and can climb all floors while raising important research funds.
Individuals and teams of 2-4 people may register prior to the event or the day of the event and should make every effort to raise a minimum of $100 each.
The registration form and “waiver/release” form must be completed by all climbers prior to The Big Climb. If you are a minor, a parent or guardian must sign this form prior to climbing.

Ask your friends, colleagues at work, relatives, or family members to sponsor you in the Big Climb.
You can get them to pledge funds per fight or to give you an outright donation.
Remember, your goal is a minimum of $100 to participate in this event.
While no cure is guaranteed for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s lymphoma and multiple myeloma even though many patients do very well especially children. Hodgkin’s lymphoma is the most curable of all blood related cancers.
The average treatment program, thanks to research has been shortened from 3 years to 4 to 6 months, representing a dramatic and incredible reduction in the length of the treatment program and progress with new and better drugs.
